Thank you for your interest in Friendship Corner Preschool and Childcare ~Wildwood. Our program is designed for children ages 2-5 years old. Our program philosophy is based on the principles of growth and development. This provides a guideline for age-appropriate activities suited to the needs of the individual child. Friendship Corner Wildwood is based on Christian foundations.
We believe each child is a unique individual. As your child's self esteem is of the utmost importance to us, each day is planned to promote his or her happiness and success. We believe learning is an active process. Our preschool is nurturing, rich in developmentally appropriate play and hands on exploration. We recognize that each child possesses multiple intelligence therefore has different learning styles. Many teaching strategies are implemented to offer each child the best learning experience possible.
Our goal is to provide the opportunity for children to grow emotionally, intellectually, physically, and socially. Our approach to learning allows your child to set his or her own pace. With this developmentally appropriate approach, each child?s individuality is treasured and his or her independence encouraged.
We believe in making children and parents feel at home and appreciate parents as partners when making decisions affecting the care of your child. We realize you as the parent know your child better than anyone else and welcome your advice about your child?s needs. Open communication between parents and staff will allow us to better care for your child. A childcare report is sent home daily. Parents are welcome to visit anytime during business hours. The owner has been working as a Early Childhood Education professional for over 22 years. She has a Masters Degree in Teaching and is Missouri Director Certified. The staff is educated and has experience teaching and caring for children of all ages. Staff is CPR/First Aid certified and attends trainings in ECE as required by the state regulations. Each staff member has a background clearance.
The owner is a member of National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), Missouri State Teachers Association (MSTA) and National Association for Family Childcare (NAFCC), River Bend AEYC.
